Your Guide to Multimode and LC Loopback Attenuators in Modern Optical Networks
Loopback Attenuator is a single-unit which integrates two significant features: loopback testing and attenuated control in a single compact unit. A loopback test is traditionally done by looping a signal on the transmit side, through the receiver side, back into the transmit side. With attenuation added to this loop, it is possible to measure the behaviour of a system directly by intentionally reducing the signal level into the system.
